Network Survey & Planning

Optility Limited specialises in harnessing the capabilities of cutting-edge planning platforms, such as Orion and APX, to deliver top-tier and cost-effective solutions. Following the completion of our desktop survey, our fully accredited surveyors venture into the field to capture any missing inventory, network issues, identify potential reroutes, assess line-of-sight challenges, and account for any factors impacting the build. This meticulous process concludes in the planning phase, where our surveyors craft a comprehensive pack for our engineers to test the network.

Test, Rod & Rope (TRR)

Our Test, Rod, and Roping (TRR) engineers meticulously assess the client’s network, ensuring the smooth operation of ducts and completing all relevant submissions and A55’s according to our clients’ standards. Armed with extensive experience, our trained engineers comprehend the challenges associated with TRR and employ creative problem-solving before resorting to civil works. They actively seek suitable reroutes, collaborating with surveyors to determine the most cost-effective solutions.

To ensure top-notch services, we continually invest in the latest tools and equipment in the industry. You can trust that we have the necessary resources to execute the job flawlessly on the first attempt.

Sub-duct Installation

After successfully roping and confirming the clarity of the duct, our team begins installing sub-ducts specific to the contract. The most common sub-duct sizes we install are 25mm and 16mm. Fiber optic subducts can be manually pulled by a team of engineers or with the use of the latest cable drum winches, reducing the risk of physical injury during manual cable pulling and expediting the operation.

We strive to pull the subduct over the greatest length possible each time to minimize the number of joints. Once the fiber subduct route is completed, we proceed to joint the duct, creating continuous tubes, and install gel wraps as per the client’s request.

UG Cable Installation

Benefiting from extensive experience in installing fiber within both new and existing underground networks, our proficient cable engineers are dedicated to minimizing waste and exploring innovative solutions to ensure successful project completion. Their years of experience, coupled with acquired skills, are complemented by the use of the latest tools and equipment, ensuring the job is executed with precision and efficiency. Rest assured, our team is equipped with the resources needed to complete the job in the most optimal way possible.

OH Cable Installation

Our engineering teams, trained and accredited by IPAF, specialize in installing overhead fiber spans, fitting overhead AFN’s, and installing connectorized block terminals—all from the safety of our Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWP). In cases where a pole is inaccessible from a MEWP, our teams are fully accredited in ladder climbing.

Equipped with extensive knowledge of all PIA and Openreach rules and regulations, our teams ensure that every job is executed seamlessly, meeting all safety and compliance standards for a hassle-free sign-off process.
